Between February and May, Saudi Arabian Airlines made a total of 38 flight movements in what is the largest air cargo charter operation in recent years at Barcelona Airport. The logistic challenge was to coordinate and organise the transport of high-quality materials from the suppliers to Barcelona airport and from there they set out with several B747-400 cargo planes to Saudi Arabia for a high profile large construction project in this country.

Barcelona was chosen to centralise these operations out of several other alternative airports, demonstrating the high efficiency of the operators of the local supply chain and their competitiveness at European level.

Saudi Arabian Airlines is a state company that has its headquarters in Jeddah and is one of the 20 largest companies in the world in air cargo.
