– Users with EU routes are the fastest growing at 9%
– More than 17,000 operations took place, 0.6% fewer than in 2014
– Goods increased by 14.3%, with more than 8,700 tonnes
Barcelona-El Prat Airport closed February with 2,218,651 passengers, representing a year on year increase of 3.6%. In the first two months of the year, 4,421,928 users were recorded, 4.3% more than in 2014.
Passengers on routes to EU countries were the fastest growing in February, with an increase of 9% over 2014. Intercontinental passengers increased by 5.1%, whereas International non-EU passengers decreased by 5.8%. Finally, passengers on domestic flights fell by 0.1%.
In the area of operations, during the month of February 17,507 take-offs and landings were performed, representing 0.6% fewer than last year. In the year to date, 35,824 movements have been carried out, 0.4% fewer than in 2014.
Finally, Barcelona-El Prat Airport transported 8,747 tonnes of air cargo, 14.3% more than in February last year. Goods on International Non-EU routes are the fastest growing at 8.5%. In the first months of the year, 16,552 tonnes of goods were handled, which represents an increase of 6.2% over the same period in 2014.
