Iberia is preparing to fly to Japan again

Ana Pastor announced (06-05-2015) that her department is working alongside Iberia so that the airline can recover the direct connection between Spain and Japan, a route that operated during the 90s.

“It would be a very important connection for tourism and for Spanish companies, which is why we are working together”, said the head of the department of Public Works.

The major changes experienced by the airline in recent years, with the reduction of its cost base and the purchase of the new fleet of aircraft (8 A330 models and another 8 A350) enable it to study the opening of connections to South America, its favourite region, North Africa, and Asia, as its management has pointed out on multiple occasions. For now, they have not clarified what the new routes might be.
